🚜About Us
Founded in 2014, Hello Tractor is a leading ag-tech platform connecting farmers with tractor owners to democratize access to mechanization across Africa. Through our pay-as-you-go (PAYG) financing model, community-based booking agents can build strong farmer networks and transition into tractor ownership. This work is supported by our Mechanization Hubs, which provide essential services such as equipment maintenance, training, access to inputs, and market linkages. By reducing the high cost and inefficiency of manual labor, we help farmers increase yields and lower production costs, while offering tractor owners secure, IoT-enabled tracking, monitoring, and revenue generation.
Today, Hello Tractor operates across 18 African countries, supporting over 6,000 booking agents and more than 7,000 tractors, serving 3 million farmers and 7 million acres. Join us as we drive inclusive growth and expand tractor ownership across the continent.
🧩The Role
Hello Tractor has a fantastic opportunity for an Innovation Associate to join our Innovation team and support the design, testing, and scaling of innovative solutions across Hello Tractor’s mechanisation ecosystem. The role focuses on improving service delivery through hubs, enhancing farmer and partner experiences, and using structured experiments, pilots, and data-driven insights to inform scalable operational and technology improvements.
🛠️Responsibilities
Innovation, Pilots & Experiments
- Design, coordinate, and implement structured experiments and pilots across Hello Tractor hubs to test new service models, operational processes, digital tools, and incentive mechanisms.
- Develop clear hypotheses, success metrics, and evaluation plans for experiments in collaboration with Operations, Data, and Technology teams.
- Ensure experiments are practical for hub teams to execute and align with core service delivery objectives.
- Track performance, analyse results, document learnings, and support decisions on iteration, scaling, or discontinuation.
Hub & Field Engagement
- Work closely with Hub Territory Managers, field teams, tractor owners, and operators to identify operational challenges and innovation opportunities.
- Support testing of new hub-level workflows aimed at improving tractor utilisation, service reliability, and farmer satisfaction.
- Collect structured feedback from farmers and partners to inform ongoing experimentation and innovation initiatives.
Data, Insights & Learning
- Analyse operational, pilot, and experiment data to generate actionable insights.
- Support the development of simple dashboards, reports, and briefs to communicate findings to internal stakeholders and leadership.
- Contribute to building an internal repository of innovation learnings, best practices, and case studies across hubs.
- Translate pilot and experiment insights into recommendations that support scaling and integration into the Hello Tractor product and service suite.
Partnerships & Ecosystem Engagement
- Support collaboration with technology providers, startups, research institutions, and development partners involved in pilots or innovation projects.
- Assist in coordinating partner activities at hub and field level to ensure alignment with operational realities.
- Contribute to concept notes, proposals, and reporting related to innovation initiatives where required.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Operations, Technology, Partnerships, and Data teams to ensure innovations are scalable, data-informed, and aligned with Hello Tractor’s strategy.
- Support internal adoption of new tools, processes, and ways of working through clear communication and change support.
🎓Who You Are
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Engineering, Technology, Innovation, Economics, or a related field.
