🧩The Role

Hello Tractor has an exciting opportunity for a high-potential Strategic Finance Intern to gain hands-on exposure across financial reporting, performance analysis, and strategic finance within a fast-scaling AgTech company. This role is ideal for a strong academic performer seeking practical experience that bridges core accounting with financial planning & analysis (FP&A), financial modelling, and competitive benchmarking.

Working closely with the Finance team, you will support monthly financial reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation, while also contributing to budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and business case modelling. This position offers cross-functional exposure and the opportunity to understand how disciplined financial processes inform strategic decision-making, capital allocation, and organizational growth.

🛠️Responsibilities

Strategic Finance & Analysis

Support budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes.
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate business performance, strategic initiatives, and investment opportunities.
Conduct competitive benchmarking and market research to inform business strategy.
Analyze variance drivers, identify trends, and prepare actionable insights for leadership decision-making.
Assist in scenario analysis and ad-hoc financial projects that influence capital allocation, growth initiatives, and operational efficiency.
Prepare dashboards and visualizations that translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations.

Financial Reporting Support

Prepare monthly financial schedules, management reports, and key performance dashboards.
Support trial balance reviews and general ledger reconciliations where needed.
Track budget vs. actual performance and highlight key insights for leadership.

Audit, Compliance & Minimal Core Accounting

Assist with bank, cash, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Support preparation of schedules and documentation for internal and external audits.
Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Operations, Product, and Commercial teams to align financial insights with organizational goals.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives, digital finance adoption, and operational efficiency projects.

🎓Who You Are

Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration
Solid grounding in accounting principles
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, basic analysis)
Exposure to accounting systems (QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar) is an advantage
High attention to detail and numerical accuracy
Strong sense of integrity and confidentiality
Structured, reliable, and able to meet deadlines
Curious, coachable, and eager to learn in a professional environment
