Hello Tractor (HT) connects tractor owners to smallholder farmers through an IoT digital solution that supports improved management of tractor businesses, ensuring tractor owner success, while connecting farmers to affordable, mechanized services. Hello Tractor’s solution begins with a low-cost hardware monitoring device that is installed on a tractor or combine, connecting it to the cloud for remote data tracking and analytics. By expanding tractors’ serviceable geography, we enable owners to grow their business, providing employment opportunities for service providers and rural booking agents. By creating equitable access to tractor services, we enable smallholder farmers to earn more and grow more, improving livelihoods and food security for their families and communities.

🧩The Role

The Hub Territory Manager (HTM) is a critical component within Hello Tractor’s model. You are the owner of your territory, meaning knowing every major farmer, farmer group, tractor owner, booking agent, agrovet, and community leader operating within your territory and being known by them. You are accountable for the commercial and operational performance of your hub as if it were your own business; you own the revenue, relationships, and outcomes.

Hello Tractor's hub model is the core of our commercialization strategy. Each hub is a mechanization service center that connects tractor owners to farmers, sells implements and spare parts, provides training and experimentation on new and better agronomic practices, and serves as the physical anchor for PAYG tractor financing in the territory. The HTM is responsible for making this model work, driving acres booked and serviced, converting foot traffic into revenue, retaining farmers and booking agents season over season, and continuously deepening the ecosystem of actors that make mechanization accessible in their territory.

🛠️Responsibilities

Own your territory

Develop and maintain current, detailed understanding of your territory: farming calendars, crop mix, land size distribution, tractor supply, farmer groups, key cooperatives, agrovets, local government, and community leaders

Run the hub as a business

Own the hub P&L – revenue, cost, and margin performance across all relevant business lines: tractor bookings, implement rentals, spare parts sales, and maintenance services

Grow acres under management

Drive farmer and tractor owner acquisition through coordinated field outreach, market activations, demo days, tractor clinics, and seasonal campaigns
Manage and develop your champion and booking agent network; set expectations, track performance, resolve issues quickly, and ensure all stakeholders are motivated and productive
Coordinate tractor availability and service readiness within the territory so that farmer demand is matched with capacity
Track seasonal demand patterns, service gaps, and operational bottlenecks; escalate or resolve them proactively

Grow engagements per acre (conversion, highly engaged, retention)

Convert interest from market days and trainings into verified bookings that are serviced
Drive repeat bookings and additional bundled services through consistent follow-up, relationship management, and quality service delivery
Lead localized activations - market days, preventive maintenance campaigns, WhatsApp outreach, geofence cold calls, etc. – to keep the territory commercially active between peak seasons
Capture customer feedback and field intelligence; translate it into operational improvements and escalate strategic observations to the Commercial Lead and other team members

Pre-launch (for new hubs)

Lead early ecosystem mapping: farmer groups, tractor owners, agrovets, technicians, community leaders, and strategic partners
Coordinate onboarding and activation of champion and booking agents, and key mobilizers
Support setup of implement banks, spare parts inventory, and maintenance infrastructure
Lead launch readiness: demo days, territory campaigns, and first-season demand generation

What you will be measured on

Revenue and P&L

Achieve revenue targets, maintain profitability, and drive PAYG business growth within your hub territory.

Acres and bookings

Performance against annual and monthly booked, verified, and serviced acres versus target, including a ≥70% booked-to-serviced completion rate and ≥50% farmer engagement-to-booking conversion rate.

Retention and ecosystem engagement

Repeat booking rate from serviced farmers (≥50%), booking agent retention and activity, hub foot traffic tracked weekly and monthly, and campaign event attendance with ≥50% conversion to bookings.

Operational discipline

Maintain hub-level inventory accuracy and spare parts fill rates aligned to seasonal demand
Ensure disciplined financial management including PAYG collections, payments, petty cash handling, and timely reconciliations in line with controls
Deliver against monthly and seasonal commercial targets, proactively correcting underperformance and identifying upsell and demand opportunities
Oversee end-to-end hub operations and ecosystem engagement, including staff accountability, field presence, stakeholder relationships, and collaboration across internal teams to drive acquisition and retention

🎓Who You Are

Degree or higher diploma in business, agriculture, agribusiness, or related field
3-5 years of experience in field sales, agri-business, rural commerce, or territory management, with direct accountability for commercial outcomes
Deep understanding of smallholder farming systems, tractor services, or agricultural input markets in the country
KPI management, tracked against your performance, and ability to close the gap where needed
Strong relationship builder comfortable engaging farmers, community leaders, government officials, and commercial partners with equal credibility
Self-directed and field-oriented
Financially literate, comfortable reading a simple P&L, managing cash, and explaining performance variances
Proficient in mobile tools and basic reporting; experience with CRM or booking platforms is an advantage
Fluent in local languages relevant to the assigned territory
Demonstrate commitment to the broad scope of values, ethics, and goals at the height of the Hello Tractor mission
